Shannon is a region within Ireland, located in the mid-western part of Ireland, is well known because of its spectacular landscapes and wonderful attractions. Lakes and rivers fill the landscape, and charter boats and private fishing guides are available at just about every town. There are so many sights to see, places to visit and things to try in Shannon.

Shannon was named after the river near which it stands. From Shannon airport, most of the guests would hire a car that would bring them to their destinations. The sights along the road Is indeed a perfect appetizer for every tourist, it’ll just keep the wanting to see and experience more. A must-see in Shannon includes Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Hunt Museum, St John's castle, Aillwee Cave, Lough Derg, and many more outstanding attractions.

Bunratty Castle a large tower house in County Clare, Ireland, is the most complete and authentic medieval fortress in Ireland.  Alongside the castle is an extensive folk park, particularly popular with families, tourists and schools. The Folk Park was added on as a way to educate visitors about life in a nineteenth-century Irish village. Because it is a complete working historical village, guests can watch as artisans in period costume bake bread, work the iron forge, and run the mill.

The Hunt Collection is an internationally important collection of original works of art and antiquities. The Hunt Museum exhibits one of Ireland's greatest private collections of art and antiquities including works by Renoir, Picasso and Yeats. The Hunt Museum holds about 2000 different artefacts, both from Ireland and abroad. The oldest pieces are from stone-age Ireland and ancient Egypt.

Another castle slightly farther down the River Shannon is King John’s Castle in Limerick City. The walls, towers and fortifications remain today, and are a visitor attraction. The castle stands since 1200 and is now a museum that offers historical exhibits and an excellent view of the surrounding country.

Aillwee Cave is one of the many thousands of ancient caves beneath the karst-landscape of the Burren in northwest County Clare Ireland. This cave was formed by the glacial melt waters of an early ice age. The erosive power of the waters carved out a subterranean river deep underneath Aillwee Mountain. You may also want to visit the third largest lake in Ireland, Lough Derg. The lake is the last of three on the River Shannon, with the other two, Lough Ree and Lough Allen lying further north.

Shannon is almost paradise, a perfect place to visit. Transportation is accessible from the airport throughout the whole place. Car rental services are available so that every guest will not be worrying much they’ll just be enjoying.
